Well-being topic - The magic in laughter

Laughing is natural, and comes naturally when people are feeling happy. The body responds well to laughter, deep breathing, awe moments, hugs and etc. These are basics things that we don't have to pay to feel better. How? These acts calm the body and soothes it, when the body is at a state of calmness and soothing, the condition triggers a complex nerve system called the Vagus Nerve. This nerve system connects the brain to the heart, immune system, the gut and all other organs. If we do more of these activities, it means vagal activities are taking place more often. This, then counteracts the stress response, which involves the sympathetic nervous system.

So! when was the last time you had uncontrollable laughter? If you are like me, sadly, I hadn't completely lost control of my body with a laughing attack for months. Writing this post, my memories take me to 'Wanis Kona' in Porgera, Enga Province where laughing was so natural and you would have 7-10 episodes of laughter a day.

Today, I am going to take a moment to do something fun and free. Join me, let’s not get drowned in everyday clutter and make time to laugh, play and all the other things that make you feel happy.
